Can I get a refund for my non-reloadable card?

Refunds cannot be issued for non-reloadable cards. These cards do not allow value reversal once issued, so the system can’t “pull back” funds.

Unfortunately we can't offer refunds for non-reloadable cards.

We can't pull value from non-reloadable cards in the same way we can with reloadable cards. Our issuers make money on the "breakage", which is the left over funds on a card when it expires. For example, when you get a $100 card and spend down $96, but never spend down the extra $4. We do not receive that revenue.

Previously, to issue refunds, we would charge the card just like we are a regular business. But, because our charge account is just Laso Finance charging Laso Finance cards, it is incorrectly, but understandably, suspected by each merchant processor as money laundering. We have gone through four different processors that all ended the same way.

After that, we accepted refunds, and Laso team members applied those refunded non-reloadable cards to our Amazon, Uber, etc. accounts as compensation. The problem is that we now have more of those account credits than we can really use.

The eventual solution will be to get a new processor that is aligned with our business model. No timeline on that yet, though.
