Why does Laso need to know United States or International?

Laso needs to determine whether you are in the U.S. or outside the U.S. so it can issue you the correct type of card.

Laso needs to know your jurisdiction to issue you the correct card.

For users physically outside the United States, you must use the International (INTL) card. Attempting to use the United States (US) card (even with a VPN, proxy, VPS or similar) will cause businesses to reject your card. Our issuing bank may freeze your card; don't do it.

In addition, the country restrictions are set by law. It is not just a Laso rule, but every entity in the payment chain such as:

  1. The card issuer.

  2. The issuing bank.

  3. The business you're buying from.

  4. The merchant processor.

  5. Card networks.

  6. Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.

  7. PayPal, or any other payment provider you may be using.

and more are responsible for enforcing these country/jurisdiction rules.

If you are travelling and need to switch between those options, just change your physical jurisdiction in the gray pill-shaped jurisdiction selector menu at top-right of the page. It will automatically re-route you to the correct page.
