Card Declined in Apple Pay / Google Pay (Frozen Card)

Sometimes your card may show as declined or inactive when attempting to use it in mobile wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay. One common cause is that the card has been frozen by the issuer (for example due to security or compliance checks).

How to Identify a Frozen Card

Below is an example screenshot of what a frozen card looks like in Apple Pay / Google Pay:

What this means:

  • If your card looks like the example above, the card has been frozen.

  • If your card does not look like this in Google Pay / Apple Pay, then your card is active and in working order.
